Taal Vista Hotel Tagaytay Review

The first time i stayed at Taal Vista Hotel was last year around Oct 31 during haloween. My 1st stay was ok and the rates were reasonable for the room we got. It was a bit similar to the Good Reviews i've seen online at other blogs which made us decide to stay there.

The beds were spacious the 1st time there was even a day sofa that could be used as a sofa bed at night. There were also lots of fun activities during our first stay.

However this December 2008 we went back expecting to get the same kind of great experience. But to my surprise we were so much disappointed.

The first room they gave us was a superior room, similiar to the room we also got last year. But it looked so much different. It was a smoking room and it really smelled bad, i wanted to transfer coz we had 2 kids with us but the receptionist there were no more rooms available which i really doubt coz you could see that there were not much guests at the hotel during this time.

The rates were also higher coz it was peak season coz it's december. It was definitely not worth the price coz the bathroom had a leak so we really had to transfer to another room. The new room they gave us had a defective bath room door handle. And the beds got smaller just 2 single beds, the room we had last year had 2 beds to but it was larger than these. And it looks like the rooms needed a lot of renovation. And still the same there was the awful smoke smell in the room. It was quite a bad experience that we wouldn't want to stay here again.

During dinner though the staff were friendly and went out of the way with customer service, i'm just upset with the receptionist for giving us this room, and she wasn't nice enough to transfer us to a non-smoking room.

There were barely people during dinner and all over the hotel so i'm pretty sure there are other rooms available. Even in the parking there wasn't that much cars.

It's sad that we were given this kind of treatment the second time around. I wouldn't recommend this hotel anymore it's not worth the price there are other better hotels around.
